The Fairy Books Of Andrew Lang - An Antique Books Guide

Of all Fairy Tale books, the series that Andrew Lang worked upon is by far the most renowned.

The series comprises of twelve different books, each allocated a colour and published between 1889 and 1910.
Each book has intricate cover designs, gilding to page edges and lavish illustration throughout by the era's most competent artists and illustrators including H.J Ford. Some editions contained colour illustration as well as Black and White such as the Brown Fairy Book (1904) although this was perhaps an edition based inclusion.

With various editions and impressions, these books are truly collectible and can cost thousands for a good complete set.

Yet Lang didn't limit himself to just the Fairy Books.
No, he also created other books that appeared to run alongside the Fairy Book series such as 'The Red Book Of Heroes'.
His wife, Mrs Lang, played a large role in these books whilst he often was cited purely as editor.

He successfully created a lasting legacy of stunning collectible books that will live on for many years to come.

Some of the few I've collected are seen below:

And here are a few that run alongside the Fairy Book Series:

If you ever choose to invest in one of these lovely books then you can rest assured that the value will hold or rise - they are great books to invest in and truly stunning publications for any collection.
Thanks for reading!
